Canterbury

Took a freezing road trip with G. Mary to Canterbury. Known for Canterbury cathedral. Was absolutely beautiful. I thought a bit pricey but gorgeous. Also not super buggy friendly and in need of more helpful staff, but nevertheless interesting. Really enjoyed learning a bit more of Anglican/Church of England history, particularly around Thomas Beckett. There is a new interesting work of art by British artist Antony Gormley. There was also lots of great shopping around Canterbury that we could admire from afar with the children. We also enjoyed walking around England's oldest chapel and the former monastery of Saint Augustine. Interesting history again. Kids cooperated more or less with our wanderings. Had a great dinner at a modern English Restaurant Deeson's and enjoyed a wander through a brilliant little farmers market.

Also managed to take a lil road trip further on to Margate on the sea. Had a nice coffee and cake in a little beach shack. Elle loved seeing the beach. Too bad it was freezing!!
