Los sentidos

Much to her mother's delight and amazement. Ellery has recently started asking me to speak to her in Spanish and tell her what everything is in Spanish. She checked out a book in Spanish that is really a mini encyclopaedia on the senses. It's super medical and informative and she loves loves it. Nothing like fancy nancy and then an In depth review of the nervous system. Perhaps we have a diva Scientist on our hands. I like it...now where are those magic school bus books. Elle definitely does not like the show!

Flamingos and Gorillas

Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is free yes free. I enjoyed taking the kids there on MLK day for a little animal rondevous. They both have decided on their favourite animals. Avery loves playing with the Gorillas and apes. While Ellery loves the flamingos. Because clearly they are pink! I think if there was a purple animal she would be all about that too! We learned all about snakes and both of my little cherubs even touched them! Ah!

Birthdays

Yes yes so I did turn the big 3-0 last month. Shock And awe factor I know. Grandpa also had a birthday and we had a lovely day at Morton Arboretum to celebrate, as well as a bit of bowling. The kids loved it.

MCA family days

So the Museum of contemporary Art recently started a monthly free family day. It's a bit mad. But full of lovely activities for the children to explore their inner Picasso so lovely. A few highlights.

Valentine decorating fun!

One lovely Saturday while wade was bust studying, the kids and I were delighted to go to Aunt Beckys for some Sugar Cookie decorating fun. Miss Becky is so creative and had an amazing set up! The kids loved it!

Welcome home Jamie

My sis has finally arrived in Chicago. Feels like we made the big push to get her all set up with a place early on in Jan and now she is finally getting settled. The kids and I made her some yummy Vday muffins and then forgot she is gluten free...oops...more motivation to start my Nourishing Traditions sprouting habit stat!
