Shiny Happy People..

Thesis Smeeserch

Okay so I am officially bad bad blogger girl!  I will revitalize my blogging skills now, because guess what...the papers are done!!  Yes yes, one is due tomorrow, and then my research proposal on Wednesday.  But, they are pretty much complete.  Wade is just going to look over my research proposal one more time.  God is so gracious with me seriously, because I was able to be super fruitful with my time.  So I am feeling so pretty good right now!  Woohoo!  Well Wade would have you know that I have been crazy stressed out and he is so glad that I have finished drafts of these babies.

So what does this mean?  This means that if I pass both of these items I will have a postgraduate diploma completed!  Woohoo...Further, my research proposal will go on to be crtiqued and passed on to the ethics board for approval of my methods.  I will find out the results of my proposal by mid-June and will then be allowed to move forward or be forced to revise.  If I am given the green light, I will have June-July to preliminarily set up interview dates and focus groups with refugee moms accessing Early Years in Camden.  I will then need to complete my analysis and dissertation write up in August and early September to hand in by the end of September...if I run out of time, I can always ask for an extension to December, which just means my grade is capped at as Pass (they only have pass, merit, distinction here, I am up for merit...but we will see how these papers go...).  If my proposal is not approved in June, I will have the summer to revise and resubmit a proposal in September.

Okay so I am not out of the dark yet!!  Lot to do this summer.  But I am off the hook with mandatory classes, now I can just attend lectures of my choosing! Although I still propose that I go out and do something one night a week and Wader stays with Ellery!  Many of you know that he is actually taking an ‘Economics with Justice’ class one day a week.  He is so so loving the class and meeting fellow professionals with a heart for social justice and equality.  So I am so happy that he is taking this!  Go Wader!  I am currently in the process of talking my mom into coming over here for August to help me with Elle so that I can do the write up for my dissertation.  It took me 3 solid weekends to write my 15,000 wds of essays this time, so thats a minimum of 8 solid work days I think for dissertation!  So I am working on getting her over here!  Elle is a big pull.

I am not sure what to update you on...since Amsterdam, I have mostly been working on school stuff, and getting outside and taking elle to drop-ins when I can.  I have gotten very involved in local community parenting activism, so that is fun times!  We are ready to enjoy our weekends again!  My research, as it is with mothers, will mostly be limited to the weekdays!  Fortunately I have two amazing mom friends who have volunteered to take Elle for a few hours here and there.  Which will be great.  Poor Elle has been having a lot of mom time lately which makes her a bit needy.  I am sticking with my monday morning yoga with the Seniors though.  So she does have that time in the creche!  Okay...so here are a few photos thanks to Lorna!  I have not been taking very many, again bad mom!  I am back to living in the present and not missing a second of her cuteness!
